Students can now consult a course library. We have a fairly complete collection of courses and books for the students. You can find this collection on shelves near the information desk.

February 13, 2006Due to a gift from the American Library our collection has been enlarged with some important economic works. Because of the bankruptcy of Fonteyn-Wouters the library could buy some marketing and economic titles stock for next to nothing.
SSRN
February 13, 2006Last year’s working papers of FETEW are now downloadable from SSRN (Social Sciences Research Network). Julienne Vandingenen uploaded the whole collection. Only public working papers from the FETEW website has been placed in the SSRN’s collection.
Opening hours during exam and study period
February 13, 2006A lot of students used our library in the evening during the exam and study period (10 Jan. – 1 Feb.). A job student kept the library open from 19.00 till 21.00 We had an average of 36 students at 19.30, 32 at 20.00 and 26 at 20.30.
Nereus
February 13, 200626 and 27 January the library organised a two day conference for Nereus. Important economic libraries (e.g. London School of Economics, Tilburg, Rotterdam, Kiel, Oxford, Toulouse) are member of this consortium.
Topics were the standards for versions of working papers and the creation of a full text database of economic publications.
Hopefully the European Commission will accept the Nereus proposal (NEEO) to create a large multilingual full-text database.
Signposting
February 13, 2006The library will change the sign posting which is no longer up to date. New signposting will show the students how to find the working rooms and the study places in the library. Students and staff will easily locate books, serials and statistics.
